Tatting that inspired me

Here I'm posting some of the things I have tatted. These designs have inspired me and influenced my own designs.

Butterfly on a Clip, by Ellen Lai:

You can find the pattern here, along with 11 other paperclip designs. In 2012, I tatted lots and lots of these to give away. I changed the place where I started the pattern so that I could end with the antennae and not have to hide the ends! Later, I used the same trick for my Trefoil Hearts Butterfly.

Happy Heart, by Frivole:

The pattern is here. I learned how to do the Catherine Wheel Join because I wanted to do this little heart, and it's certainly come in useful since then! Also, the smooth outline of this heart is reflected in my Trefoil Heart and SCMR Heart. (Note: the heart on the right is correct; there's a small error in the heart on the left.)

I participated in Jon's tat-along for this mat; you can see the wonderful results here. If you would like to try it, you can get more information here. This is the first doily I finished – only four rounds, but each one counts!
